Lots of new patterns to knit!

Chiller is now available. My hand (and hubby’s) always freeze when we eat ice cream out of those little pint containers. So I decided to create a little cozy to take care of that problem. Works up fast in garter stitch with about 40 yards of Sugar ‘n Cream yarn and size 7 needles. It does require a little seaming at the end. There is a photo tutorial on how to sew it up. These would make great holiday gifts!

Introducing my Hot Mama Hat. This slouchy beret style hat is knit from the bottom up in the round. Design lines radiate from the ribbing to the top of the hat. Fast and easy to knit with size 10 needles and 140 yards of a bulky weight yarn.

Dribbles baby bib can be knit with about 50 yards of dishcloth cotton and a size 7 (4.5 mm) 16-24” circular needle. There are a lot of stitches at the beginning. Knit from the outside edge in to the center, each row gets shorter as stitches are decreased. At the end, BO and sew the seam or use Russian garter stitch grafting on the needles for an almost invisible finish (instructions included). Finished bib measures 7.5” across x 6.5” long from center of neckline to bottom edge. Ties are 7.5” long.

45 Degrees is cold and is also the miter in a right angle. This easy blanket is knit as a reverse mitered square starting from a tiny square and growing 2 stitches every right side row. It is knit in shadow stitch with only 1 purl row out of every 4 rows. (Or you could use garter stitch.) Mine was knit with about 1,600 yards of Aran weight yarn on size 8 needles. Finished size is 49” x 51”. It's not quite square due to the stitch pattern. This is a simple guy appropriate design that shows off variegated yarn. I designed it as a gift for a male friend who is being treated for cancer. It’s easy to make as larger or small as you like by stopping when it is large enough. (Think dishcloth, baby blanket, etc.) You will need long circulars as the blanket grows to hold all the stitches. Your purchase price is donated to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana.

Angel Wing Shawl is an asymmetrical shawl knit sideways in garter stitch with a simple lace edging. Laid flat as you see in the first photo it is shaped like the wing of an angel. The edging is knit as you go. Short rows create the curves. It's very easy! I’ve included a tutorial for no-wrap short rows. Block or don’t block, it is up to you. Can be knit with any weight of yarn by adjusting the needle size and yarn amounts. I used 550 yards of Brown Sheep Nature Spun Sport weight yarn on size 8 knitting needles for this project. (Knit it with any weight of yarn by changing the needle size.) This is one of my favorite shawls to wear. I've had many compliments every time I wear it. Blocked size: 35” neckline x 27.5” deep at end.

Merry Kate is an asymmetrical scarf or shallow shawlette knit sideways in garter stitch. It is a fun and easy knit. The top edge has a gentle curve and the bottom edge features a simple to knit point border that can be carried up the side if you desire. It is shaped with increases and decreases. No short rows! Wear it as a scarf/shawlette or wrap around your head as a hood. The pattern is written for worsted weight with size 8 needles. Change it up by substituting any weight of yarn with a needle size recommended for that yarn. No blocking required! I used 450 yards of worsted weight yarn with size 8 needles. Washed and laid flat the finished size was 69” neckline x 53” bottom edge x 14” deep.
